Come out and help the VFW give remembrance poppies
Origins. The remembrance poppy was inspired by the World War I poem "In Flanders Fields". Its opening lines refer to the many poppies that were the first flowers to grow in the churned-up earth of soldiers' graves in Flanders, a region of Europe that overlies a part of Belgium.
On Nov 4th we will be assisting the (WARISC) Western Army Reserve Intelligence Support Center at Camp Parks with their Change of Command. We will be supplying a color guard, and work party to help set up and breakdown the event.
This is our chance to thank the member of the WARISC for there support, and for helping at the fireworks booth this year, which earned our unit funds.
